The time has come my friend...

I know I know, I fell of the face of the earth again. But I come back bearing lots of stories!!!! And it would be too easy to tell them all at once so I will have plenty to write about for awhile. If only I had time to blog. When I get the urge to, it's about 4 am and I am laying in bed wide awake. The boyfriend is soundly snoring next to me and I don't think he would appreciate the click click click click of the keys as I type. It's no different then when I am trying to sleep and I hear all the lovely sounds from his games on his phone such as candy crush (yes we are both quite addicted!). right honey? You may be wondering why I am awake at 4 am. Here is my first earth shattering news... I GOT A NEW JOB. Yes, it is true. I left beautiful and unique Nemacolin Woodlands Resort... to move across their property to their newly opened Lady Luck Nemacolin. The casino is owned by Isle of Capri who has casinos all over the midwest but it is still located on our property and Nemacolin still owns the land and gaming license.

I opened a casino... wow I never thought I would say that. But I went through months of preparations, planning, hiring, and training and then on July 1st we opened to the public. And I was deathly ill. Go figure. It was probably all the hours spent into getting everything ready. But it was worth it. I am one of three F&B supervisors that run the whole F&B show. We are in charge of the bars, bartenders, bar backs, beverage servers, the grab n go that servers hot food 24/7, and the restaurant servers and hosts. And 95% of the time there is only one of us there at a time. Needlessly to say there is never a dull moment. Which is exactly what I was asking for. I love being busy so the time goes by quickly.

I of course work the grave shift, either 7p-3am or 4:30p-2:30am. Ugh I know. Especially when at my old job, I had to be at work at 6am. Complete change right? It took some getting used to but now I don't mind it. There is always plenty to keep me busy at night and something interesting usually happens before the night is over. I have gotten to know a lot of supervisors and managers in other departments and they are great on that shift.

Stay tuned to hear about my family vacation with the mother in law... it was our first and our last...
